LIVINGSTON, Tenn. – The Livingston/Overton County Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Livingston have named Morgan White as the inaugural Tourism & Main Street Director, a newly structured role designed to grow Overton County's visitor economy while accelerating the preservation-centered revitalization of downtown Livingston.

White will lead Overton County's tourism marketing strategy and guide Livingston's accredited Tennessee Main Street program through its four-pillar framework of Economic Vitality, Design, Promotion, and Organization. Her work will build on ongoing downtown revitalization funded through the Courthouse Square Revitalization Pilot Project, under which Livingston is one of only six Tennessee municipalities still receiving an allocation.

"Morgan stood apart from a deep field of candidates because she brings something rare: proven results in rural tourism development, real fluency in digital storytelling, and an authentic connection to the Upper Cumberland," said Zach Stephens, Chamber President & CEO. "She has spent the last year building the regional brand for fourteen counties at the Upper Cumberland Development District. Now she gets to bring that same energy to one community."

White currently serves as Tourism Recovery Coordinator with the Upper Cumberland Development District, where she directs regional brand strategy and produces photo and video content for multiple Destination Marketing Organizations. She previously served as Director of Marketing and Development for WCTE Central Tennessee PBS and as Executive Director of the Jackson Arts Council.

"Main Street work is community work, and that is what Morgan does best," said Gene Gantt, Chair of the Main Street Livingston Board of Directors. "She listens, she shows up, and she gets things done. Our merchants, property owners, and volunteers are going to love working with her, and the future of our downtown is brighter because of it."

White holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations, cum laude, from Freed-Hardeman University, and is a certified Tennessee Naturalist.

"Every small town in Tennessee has a story worth telling, and Overton County's is one of the best-kept secrets in the state," said White. "From Standing Stone State Park to Dale Hollow Lake to the courthouse square itself, we have everything visitors are looking for. My job is to make sure they hear about it, experience it, and leave telling their friends. That is how you grow a tourism economy and a vibrant Main Street at the same time."

White will officially begin in her role on June 1, 2026.
