Community leaders, state officials, and company representatives gathered today for the ribbon cutting at Independent Stave Company's new Overton County facility, marking the completion of a $30 million investment that will create 85 new jobs over the next five years. Thirty-five employees are already working at the facility.

Independent Stave Company is one of the world's leading producers of barrels and cooperage products for the spirits and wine industries, and its decision to locate and grow in Overton County represents one of the most significant manufacturing investments the county has seen in recent years.

"Manufacturing investments like this strengthen our entire community, and they demonstrate Overton County's appeal for major employers," said Zach Stephens, President & CEO of the Livingston/Overton County Chamber of Commerce. "These are the kinds of jobs that allow people to build a career and raise a family right here at home, and we are proud to welcome Independent Stave Company's growth in our community."

The Chamber thanked the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, State Senator Ken Yager, State Representative Ed Butler, and the Tennessee General Assembly, along with Overton County and City of Livingston officials, for their efforts in making the project a reality.

"Projects of this scale come together because state and local partners work in the same direction, and this one is a clear example of what that partnership can deliver for a rural county," Stephens said.
