The Livingston/Overton County Chamber of Commerce was proud to host a Rural Business & Workforce Roundtable this morning with U.S. Senator Bill Hagerty, bringing the concerns and priorities of rural Tennessee businesses directly to one of the state's representatives in Washington.

Business leaders from manufacturing, healthcare, banking, and other sectors joined elected officials and education leaders for the discussion, which focused on the issues shaping the future of rural business, including artificial intelligence, workforce development, regulatory challenges, and economic competitiveness.

"Rural communities like ours face a different set of challenges than our urban neighbors, and the businesses that operate here deserve to have their perspective heard by the people making decisions at the federal level," said Zach Stephens, President & CEO of the Livingston/Overton County Chamber of Commerce. "We are grateful to Senator Hagerty for taking the time to sit down with our business community, and to everyone who participated in a candid and productive conversation. These conversations help ensure rural Tennessee's perspective is heard."

The roundtable is part of the Chamber's ongoing work to connect Overton County's employers with state and federal leaders and to advocate for policies that support growth, investment, and opportunity in the Upper Cumberland region.
